Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (LA BioMed) is a non-profit biomedical research institute dedicated to saving lives throughout the world.  Through its focus on translational biomedical research, its multidisciplinary research teams are committed to being at the forefront of discoveries in Brain & Behavior, Cancer, Cardiovascular & Kidney Disease, Genetics, Health Services & Outcomes, Infection & Immunity, Metabolism & Endocrinology, and Respiratory Physiology & Medicine.

LA BioMed seeks a Vice President for Development.  Reporting to the President & CEO, and working closely with Board of Directors, the VP Development will play a critical role in developing and leading LA BioMed’s future philanthropic strategic plan and executing on its fundraising goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced fundraising leader who excels in program-building and thrives in an environment with significant upside potential. This person will bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm to a biomedical research institute with a distinguished history of producing groundbreaking discoveries that impact populations worldwide. Previous experience raising funds for a complex, biomedical research-focused and/or healthcare organization is preferred. The candidate should possess strong communication skills, campaign management experience, and the ability to develop – and ultimately implement – a strategic fundraising plan tied to the Institute’s mission and priority objectives. A bachelor’s degree is required, and an advanced degree is preferred.
