Founded in 1961, Keiro® is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of senior life in the Japanese American and Japanese community in Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties. Keiro is currently seeking a Director of Development & External Relations. Reporting to the Vice President, the Director of Development & External Relations is responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, operations, and leadership for Keiro's development/external relations and communications/branding programs. The Director will also interface with Board members while serving as staff point person for several committees of the Board of Directors.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or related field, preferred.
- Experience: 10-15 years of professional experience in a leadership position for fundraising or communications/public relations role is required.
- Job Knowledge: Knowledge of corporate and foundation philanthropy and best practices for relationship management; knowledge of Japanese American/Japanese community, community-based organizations.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; bilingual Japanese, preferred.
